This is so incredible, I had to share. Ah, the Internet bringing people together.
i actually think this is great. who needs 30 oz. of soda at once anyway? who needs soda at all? blegh. those drinks are terrible and i’m only letting my kids drink water and green tea and real fruit juices without sugar (but will let them eat cooler ranch doritos and cheez-its all they want cuz that stuff is delicious).
Here’s the bad news: Mayor Bloomberg wants to ban large sugary drinks.
The good news? The New York Times chose a spectacular photo to go with the story.

Because of whom she married, Ann was able to stay at home and raise her family the way she wanted. She was able to support her husband’s ambitions. She was able to afford lifesaving care when she was diagnosed with both multiple sclerosis and breast cancer. And she was able to devote her time to charity. In fact, her excellent choice of a mate makes her uniquely qualified to talk about the most important economic issue that real women confront: How am I going to support myself and my future family? The feminists may wish otherwise, but little girls want stability and security, not state-sponsored welfare. For choosing a life partner who could give her that, Ann Romney is a great role model.
What in the what?! She refers to non-feminist women (and therefore, presumably herself?) as “little girls”??
Agreed. Who was the editor that decided to publish this?!

Well, I know it’s only Thursday, but I think S.E. Cupp wins the “dumbest editorial I can’t believe was published in 2012” award for this bit of “ladies, you can either collect welfare or marry rich: those are your only real options for stability, not making it on your own” drivel.

When Obama made his announcement about gay (marriage), I flashed back to (Lyndon B.) Johnson four days after President Kennedy is assassinated. He has to give his first speech to Congress and his advisers are sitting around and saying ‘Don’t mention civil rights. Don’t use up your political capital on civil rights. It’s a great cause, but it’s a lost cause.’ You know what Johnson says? ‘What’s a presidency for, then?’ And he says, in his speech, ‘The first thing we have to do is pass the Civil Rights bill.’
